STudio Buttons - Fabric Japanese Temari Ball Buttons
 Japanese Temari Balls are a centuries old Japanese recyclying craft. They can be made in a wide variety of sizes. This page shows my button size - mainly under 1", may be slightly bigger, but all are medium NBS buttons. See some of my full size Temari Balls.
These little fabric buttons are hand made string wrapped balls with embroidery on top. I have put a rattle in each one so they are interactive. They all have woven thread shanks and my embroidered stylized KC signature on the bottom (see photo). All buttons are numbered 3358 with a dash for where in the series they are.

This is an open series - I will take commissions for design and colors. I am always trying to add new designs so come back to see what else I have. Usually my sold buttons are in a separate archive page but I have put the sold ones here so you can see various designs and color combinations.
A note about the embroidery - there are multiple ways to lay down the thread with the same stitch and each has it's own look. They are regular, layered and woven. To see the difference, look at buttons #34, #35 and #17. These are the same stitch except #34 (simple 10 division) is one color then the next as an overlay, #35 (simple 8 division) is woven instead of an overlay and #17 (simple 8 division) is layered. Now look at #35 (simple 12 division) - it's also the same stitch in layers but use the same color so it looks different then $17. Why am I telling you this? Because I find it so interesting that the same stitch can so look different.
